INTERNAL AUDITOR (Financial services / Pension funds) – Randburg Gauteng R320K

To become a strategic partner to the business interested stakeholders through consistent provision of high-quality assurance and advisory services.

KEY DELIVERABLES

Provide value-added consulting activities that offer proactive as opposed to detective assurance.

Streamline internal audit processes to enable continuous monitoring of core processes to enable timely mitigation of risk events.

Direct the identification, evaluation, and monitoring of the risk areas and assist with the development of the Internal Audit Methodology and the Annual Risk Based Audit Plan, and the three-year rolling Plan.

Establish risk-based audit programs.

Perform audits independently within the time budget and timelines determined as per the audit Plan. Be able to work independently with minimal support.

Evaluate the suitability of internal control design and make recommendations on findings.

Compile internal audit Reports to management committees and audit and risk committees.

Ensuring that policies, procedures, and guidelines, that impact auditing, are clearly understood while determining the level of internal compliance (in terms of Quality Assurance standards (IIA) and Internal Audit methodology).

Partner more closely with key internal and external stakeholders to ensure optimally combined assurance to the Management and make certain that key risks are appropriately addressed.

QUALIFICATIONS

A relevant BCom degree or equivalent majoring in Internal Auditing

Eight (8) years of internal auditing experience of which Three (3) years were in a Supervisory role.

Experience in auditing within pension funds/ financial services environment will be an advantage.

Studying towards a Certification as a Certified Internal Audit and/or Certified Fraud Examiner will be advantageous.

Our Client, a Globally established Group Leader in the Technologically driven Logistics industry, operating across thirteen (13) countries on the African Continent, is seeking to urgently appoint a dynamic Head: Finance to  be based in their Centurion, Pretoria Head Office.


MAIN PURPOSE OF THE ROLE

  • Reporting directly into the CEO, serve on the Manco as a Strategic Finance Business Partner
  • Manage the Full Finance Function
  • Lead and mentor a Finance Team of Professionals in Treasury, Financial Accounting, Operational Finance & Analytics
  • Be the ultimate commercial partner to the CEO and manage key stakeholder relationships e.g. Private Equity investors, Founders, Governments.
  • Ensure that the Finance function of The Group is managed efficiently and properly, in accordance with the highest standards of good practice across 13 African countries in which the Group operates.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

  •  Minimum CA (SA), CIMA or related qualification with articles from a Big 4 firm preferred.
  • Experience as Head of finance or similar Senior role is ESSENTIAL.
  • Substantial relevant professional experience within finance function, providing and presenting insightful financial information and commercial analysis
  • Experience working in Africa will be a major advantage
  • Strong Operational and technical skills, knowledge including a good understanding of financial, tax and commercial legislation across multiple African territories
  • Ability to deliver under pressure while maintaining full integrity of actions and high-quality output
  • Analyse and present complex information in a relevant and comprehensible way, including interpreting accounting data for non-accountants
  • Experience in Accounting Software and Payroll Software, including Advanced MS

Our Client, a Global Group Leader in the Financial Services sector is seeking to URGENTLY appoint a suitably qualified Senior Financial Accountant to be based in their SA Regional Head Office in the Northern Suburbs of Cape Town.  

MAIN ACCOUNTABILITIES OF THE ROLE:

This role is accountable for achieving results through others and individually, over periods of 3 months to a year.

Execution of the key strategic priorities as per the business plan and for governance and compliance at an operational level.

Preparation of management reports; analysis and interpretation of financial data, using financial analysis to better support predictive results

Implementation of accounting processes, systems and controls; end-to-end financial function exposure and involvement. 

KEY ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Review management reports to ensure these are accurate, complete and submitted timeously.

Develops, reports on and interprets financial data, KPIs and benchmarks.

Provides commentary on financial results and implications and advises on corrective action to be taken.

Collaborates with business unit stakeholders on financial outcomes and trends.

Testing of accounting processes for new products, new systems and project involvement dependent in the capacity as a finance subject matter expert.

Supports the execution of a business plan and key strategic objectives.

Accountable for governance and compliance at an operational level.

KEY COMPETENCY REQUIREMENTS:

5 years Post-Articles working experience

IFRS 17 knowledge and application as well as savings/investment accounting experience (advantageous)

Experience in due diligence reviews will be advantageous

Experience with policy administration systems and premium collection for life insurers

Financial Services/Insurance Industry experience (advantageous)

Technically inclined, including in the application of IFRS and management accounting principles
